Architectural Visualisation Process
Creating Architectural visualisations and Animations is not a one system process but needs to take a number of factors in to account from client preferences to delivery Methodology. At Media 4D we plan every project with the client to ensure a smooth workflow, good communications and exceptional results on budget and to specified deadlines.
The following steps explain how we achieve a static 3D architectural visualisation and how we work with our clients on a regular basis. This is an overview and is designed to get a general idea of our processes.
Pre Project Start
Before starting any project we complete a consultations which establishes goals, aspirations and technicalities such as deadlines and budget. In most cases this is achieved through a meeting in person where we can get to know each other but in some cases where the client is located abroad or there is a short lead time we conduct meetings via video call to speed up the starting process. We are very flexible in our approach and believe that good communications is a vital contributor to any project.
Previously we have completed projects for clients abroad entirely by email communications and phone calls. We have also worked on projects where we needed to be more involved and attended meetings on construction sites, at the Clients premises and at our own facilities. We adjust to the demands of our clients and the project and always provide outstanding communications to keep everyone in the loop at all stages.
Starting the Project from 2D to 3D
Once we received a project start confirmation we arrange for delivery of the necessary information such as Architectural drawings, sketches, reference photos and any other material that might be useful. We can produce work from Cad drawings and Hand drafted material and discuss this with you at the pre project stage.
Now it is time to get to work and we would first translate all the received drawings in to our own software packages. First we take the drawings and create the 3D model of the proposed building in an industry standard cad package such as AutoCad or Vector works. This allows us to create Architectural 3D models that are to the exact dimensional specifications of the Architect. Throughout the production we keep you informed and let you know of our progress.
Once the 3D Architectural Model is completed we might have a meeting with you to discuss any changes, check the model for accuracy and request a notice to proceed to the next stage.
Enhancing the 3D Architectural Model with textures, fixtures and lighting
We have now received a notice to proceed and are ready to export the 3D Architectural model in to our dedicated 3D modeling package. At this stage we add all textures to the model as specified in the 2D drawings and written specifications received. Texturing the 3D model will instantly bring the model to life and we are now coming closer to the finished results. Once again, we will send you updates of our progress at all stages and, if necessary, allow you to make changes at certain parts of the project.
All we have to do now is to add all fixtures, lighting, people and scenery and depending on the scope of the project we are ready to render our fist static 3D architectural visual.
Post Producing the 3D Architectural Visual
Our 3D render engine has produced a great visuals of the proposed development but to create a truly exceptional image we will now post produce the 3D visual in Adobe Photoshop.
This allows us, to some extent, adjust contrast, exposure and colour settings. We can also add elements such as people, lighting and trees and enhance objects and textures. There many methods of creating some great architectural visualisations and we would discuss all available options with you at the start of the project.
Delivery and Sign Off
Once you are absolutely happy with the 3D Architectural Visualisation we ask you to approve the finished results and deliver the final high resolution image or images to you via email and on a dvd via mail unless otherwise arrange at the pre start meeting.
Because it is important for us to understand our clients needs and requirements we will also ask you to give us some optional feedback on our service and if the produced work had the desired impact. This allows us to constantly improve our service and shows that we genuinely care about our clients and the work we produce.
